SAP Create 100 New Jobs

Labour TD for Galway West Derek Nolan has welcomed the announcement that 100 new jobs will be created in Galway by the German multinational software firm SAP.
Deputy Nolan said the new positions would be advertised in Galway for the firm's newly created Cloud Services and Support Centre and a further 150 would be created in its Dublin facility.
He said: "This is another excellent boost for Galway. In recent weeks we have seen the announcement of 220 jobs for the pharmaceutical firm Mylan and 115 jobs by the networking giant Cisco in Oranmore. Overall, since the start of the year 918 jobs have been created in Galway.
"It is clear that Galway has an extremely skilled workforce and that the talent of our people is attracting the biggest and brightest companies to our city. It is a desirable location for big business and this latest announcement is a huge vote of confidence for people who are struggling to look for work. SAP is the largest software company in Europe and the third largest in the world.
"SAP is already a huge employer in Galway, with a substantial workforce in its Parkmore facility. This investment will be about gearing up for the next wave of technology innovation, especially in the areas of cloud computing mobile applications and database technology. SAP is investing €110m in the IDA Ireland supported initiative."
